Membership Composition
Companies concerned with all aspects of the semi-trailer industry belong to the NTDA, including:
Independent licensed dealers engaged in the business of buying and selling new and used semi-trailers.
Semi-trailer manufacturers (vans, reefers, flats, tanks, loggers, lowboys, hoppers, grain, hot shots, refuse and dumps).
Container and container chassis manufacturers.
Semi-trailer parts and accessories manufacturers and suppliers.Semi-trailer rental and leasing companies.
Other semi-trailer industry affiliated firms and service/support organizations.
Trailer repair and maintenance shop suppliers.
Consultants (legal, financial, tax, computer, communications, management, information systems and others that provide consulting services to semi-trailer dealers).
Trailer trade publications.
Computer software and hardware manufacturers and suppliers.
Trailer insurance and finance companies.
Trailer delivery services.
Membership Categories
Nearly 500 NTDA members belong to the Association under one of two membership categories:
Dealer: Independent licensed dealers engaged in the business of buying and selling semi-trailers, or a representative appointed by such a dealer. Companies engaged principally in the business of purchasing semi-trailers, semi-trailer equipment or component parts of such semi-trailers or equipment from manufacturers for resale to users and other dealers.
Dealer Branch: Independent licensed dealers engaged in the business of buying and selling semi-trailers, or a representative appointed by such a dealer may join its branch locations at no additional cost. (This is a non-voting category of membership).
Allied: Companies engaged primarily in the manufacture of semi-trailers and/or semi-trailer parts and accessories, and others that are not dealers or manufacturers but are affiliated with the semi-trailer industry and support the objectives of the Association.
